Th e Irish Healthcare Centre Awards recognized Carriogran House as the Nursing Home of the Year of 2017. Th e Awards Ceremony was held on Friday March 10, in the Royal Marine Hotel, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin. Carrigoran House was named as a finalist in three categories that included Healthcare Department Initiative – Falls Prevention, Day Care Centre of the Year and Nursing Home of the Year. Th is is an annual national awards event with an objective to shine a spotlight on the best of Irish healthcare, highlighting achievements, hard work and to promote a commitment to excellence. Carrigoran House was represented by Valerie Vaughan, CEO; Aodhnaid Lennon, Manager of Health and Wellness Day Service; and staff and volunteers including the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word who are the founders of Carrigoran House. In her acceptance speech, Valerie Vaughan said, “It was a pleasure to accept this award on behalf of our staff , residents and their families; our volunteers and the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.
Having the quality of our services across all of our departments in Carrigoran House affirmed by an expert panel of judges is a true testament to the wonderful community of staff that work together to make Carrigoran House the unique service for people centered care that it is.”
