Carrigoran House residents, employees and leaders attend the bi-annual conference on aging.

Carrigoran House held their bi-annual conference on Nov 2 and 3rd in their Health & Wellness Centre at Carrigoran. The theme of the meeting was “A Time to Grow: New Perspectives on Ageing.” On Friday the 2nd, the keynote speakers included Liz Early, Professor John Noland, and Professor David Prendergast. Topics included preparing for ‘The Third Act’ stage of your life, Nutrition in Brain health and the prevention of Alzheimer’s and Human-Centered Technology for an Ageing Population. Valerie Vaughan (CEO Carrigoran House) is thankful for all those who attended, sponsored and participated in this 2-day event. In particular, Maria Molloy who chaired the conference, Karen Fennessy who spoke about the Clare Age Friendly Strategy and Mary O’Dowd together with the staff of our Centre. This was also a Board Altranais approved event with continuing education points for nurses who attended. Exercise, Life Long Learning, and Wellness workshops filled the 2nd day finishing with a Tea Dance.
