Sr. Sharon Apiyo Anam received a certificate of recognition at the induction ceremony on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the San Jacinto Auditorium at the Houston Community College – Central Campus after she successfully completed the National Society of Leadership andSuccess (NSLS) Foundations of Leadership training program. She began theprogram on February 21, 2023, and completed it on April 3, 2023. Karl Mayes and Dr. Latonya Brown, the NSLS Central Campus Chapter Advisors, provided the commencement speech and a poem. Sr. MariaMendez CCVI, other inducted members with their families, friends, and invited guests were in attendance.

The NSLS is a community of leaders building a betterworld with chapters at hundreds of universities. This nationwide movement helps to make a positive impact on alocal and global scale. The NSLS provides students with tools to identify their passions, create goals for their lives, build a community of leaders, connect to resources to maketheir goals a reality, and provide a call to action to impact their communities positively. The chapter builds purpose-driven leaders to make goals a reality and create a positive impact worldwide. The NSLS also builds leaders who makea difference in people’s lives.
