Día de los Niños Enrollment Drive was a collaboration between St. Austin Center (SAC) and theHouston Independent School District (HISD.) Throughout the previous months leading up to this firstannual event, discussions determined enrollment and immunization were factors affecting multiple families and the educational needs of children. Together, SAC and HISD pursued multiple vendors to bring resources to the community. Many parents took the opportunity in getting their children up to date with their immunizations for free. Others accomplished in establishing identity through the Harris PublicLibrary by getting an Enhanced library card, which works as a valid identification card in Harris County.This event at St. Austin Center hosted over 30 vendors. Salvadorian and Mexican Consulates were also on-site to provide information to the community. St. Austin Center is already planning in providing this eventfor the community on an annual basis.
