College Student Retreat Reveals God’s Presence to Students and Sr. Kim Xuan
By Sr. Kim Xuan, CCVI
I had the opportunity to serve as one of the spiritual directors for the Busy Student Retreat at Texas A&M in College Station in February. It was an enriching experience. Amid their busy schedules, students carved out time for prayer, reflection, and spiritual conversation. I was amazed by their dedication and desire to build a relationship with God. Walking alongside them in the retreat was a great privilege, as I was able to witness their self-awareness grow and their relationship with God deepen. A key reward was seeing students recognize God’s presence in their daily lives. Moments of clarity, healing, and renewal emerged for them, often unexpectedly. The retreat was a reminder that God meets us where we are, even in the busiest seasons of our lives. As a spiritual director, these encounters are equally formative. Engaging in deep conversations strengthens my own faith and trust in God’s movement. The Busy Student Retreat was truly for students and directors, transforming both, I believe, in reaffirming the depth of God’s love and the value of making space for Him.
