Our journey with the Elizabeth Place Outreach Ministry (EPOM) in 2024 began in January when we enrolled 41 students in our empowerment programs. In July, we added another 38. From January through November, we successfully empowered a total of 79 individuals.
We celebrated this achievement with a colorful graduation ceremony on November 27th, marking the culmination of our efforts. The event was filled with joy and emotion. Many graduates, overwhelmed by the moment, could not hold back their tears. Some shared heartbreaking stories of losing their parents at a young age, which shattered their dreams and forced them to discontinue their education. For many, the opportunity to wear a graduation gown symbolized a long-awaited dream finally coming true.
Our graduation ceremonies consistently inspire tears of joy. This particular ceremony was officiated by Fr. Simon Mwai, a priest from the Nyahururu Diocese, who has known our congregation for many years. Fr. Simon celebrated Mass with us, delivered an inspiring talk, and presided over the closing Mass for EPOM staff.
We are deeply grateful to the Congregation for their unwavering support of the EPOM ministry. Many of our graduates struggle to find the words to express their gratitude. For those whose hope was once shattered, EPOM has provided a renewed sense of purpose and possibility. Praised be the Incarnate Word!
