On March 12, we had a Mass for Healing led by Frs. Albert McDonnell & Damien Nolan, where the residents who were able to join in the chapel received the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. After Mass, both priests made rounds in the units with the pastoral care team to administer the Sacrament to other residents. On March 13 & 14, John Zipprich and Sr. Christina Murphy, CCVI, from Houston joined and other Carrigoran board members for the Carrigoran Board Meeting. They arrived in time to see all the St. Patrick’s Day preparations. On March 17, we celebrated the Liturgy for St. Patrick’s Day, officiated by Fr. Damien Nolan. The residents were so appreciative of Fr. Nolan coming on a bank holiday to officiate a Gaelic Mass for us. After dinner, some of our residents joined staff and volunteers, along with Sr. Helen and me, in filling three buses for a trip to the St. Patrick’s Day parade in the neighboring community of New Market on Fergus. It was a great way to support the community spirit and have some fun. As the crowds recognized the Carrigoran House buses, they waved and cheered. One of our residents, Mary Woods, was popular in the neighborhood. When the crows saw her, they cheered to her. It was such a relaxing and happy experience for all, especially our residents.
