Immigration
Immigration

Immigration is a major issue around the world where people leave their home countries seeking a better life elsewhere.  The Congregation stands in solidarity with immigrants. And, through our advocacy efforts with our legislators, we support comprehensive immigration reform in the U.S. that upholds the dignity of people, acknowledges their contributions to this country and provides a process toward legalization of their status.

We also provide literacy services at St. Austin Center that include English as a second language, citizenship classes and assistance with applying for citizenship classes.  We provide education classes on a variety of issues including health care, legal assistance, financial literacy and more.  Sisters who were formerly teachers are now teaching in the Literacy Center.
